Nov. 14th, 2005 10:32 pmHmm, let's see. The weekend was very nice, I sadly did not do any homework which is going to bite me in the ass tomorrow, just you wait. I went to go see Fantastic Four with my Mom on Saturday, I really like that movie, I think it's cute as all get out and the special effects are marvelous.
Today went fairly well. I'm writing a short story for Creative Writing and I have to push it out of me one sentence at a time, it's driving me nuts, but the final version is due Wed. so unless I type like a demon tonight I have no other option. Damn. Shakespeare is either going to be very fun or very terrible. I'm in a group of almost all men, we (they) decided to do Julius Caesar as our play - they chose this not because it's a good play, which it is, but because when we were talking about the various plays they started talking about it like it was a Bond flick. That's right; we're re-writing and performing the Tragedy of Julius Caesar as a spy movie. As I said, very good or very, very, very terrible.
Gym Hockey's going well, my team is kicking ass, lovely. I'm trying to decide what pattern to make in Wearable, something fun and odd or something I'd actually wear. Maybe both if I find the time.
I good therapy trick a friend came up with for dealing with difficult people: write a fictional representation of them and then have . . . fun, yes that's a nice bloodless way of saying it. I need to try that.
It's official, I'm going to Disney with my Mom during Christmas break. I'm gonna miss the ACC Christmas concert so I don't really need to go to rehearsals until after. We kinda did that on purpose. TFYP is teaching a swing class at the exact same time as the ACC so I couldn't go to both, now I can go to swing for a few weeks until after the break. Yay! I went tonight to check it out, if I was too shy or didn't feel comfortable I wouldn't go any longer. It was loads of fun, I actually really like following. I didn't dance that much to be honest. I danced with Duncan (who's teaching the beginners) which was pretty fun if brief, we talked during most of it. Aaron got there late but I danced with him once, he does nothing but twirls, it was fantastic, if dizzying. This one guy Erik is really energetic. I trip over my own feet a lot but I didn't step on anyone or fall over, I only flicked two people in the nose when we did the Banana, I was so embarrassed. I fully intend tp go next week.
I keep focusing on my birthday; I don't think it'll leave me alone until it's over. Party this, party that, if it annoys me god save everyone else. I keep thinking I have more girl friends than guys but when I first did a guest list it had a girl to guy ratio of 1:1.8. I guess most of my close friends are XX but I have more friendly connections with men.
I keep having people ask what I want for my birthday, and to be honest I don't need anything. There are a few things I'd like (most of them expensive) but I'd be more than happy with a night of sugar-high memories and a few in-jokes.
*fangirl spasm* Harry Potter! Harry Potter! *froth* It looks like it'll be fantabulous, so pretty, with lots of scary bits thrown in I'm sure. Mmmm, Harry Potter followed by hours of dancing, so good. I ought to get to my work. Much Love ~J
PS It’s very odd. When I saw Ian, Aaron, and Duncan tonight I asked them if they’d be interested in coming to my party (a movie and dinner) as the words were coming out of my mouth I realized how much it sounded like a date, since I didn’t say “would you like to come to my party” no, what I said was “Hey, would you like to go see Rent with me?” The odd thing is none of them said no. I did get one odd look from Aaron (I always get odd looks from him, I think he does it for laughs) but the others just looked thoughtful. Anyway, away I go. Bye.
